ADMINISTRATION

Directorates & Centres

The professional units that plan, build, protect, assure and support everything the University does — and the people who lead them.

How the University is organised beyond the faculties

Alongside its ten faculties, FUSTKABO operates fourteen directorates and centres that deliver the planning, infrastructure, welfare, compliance and support functions on which academic work depends. Each is headed by a Director or Coordinator who reports to the Vice-Chancellor either directly or through the appropriate Deputy Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar or the Bursar.

The directorate structure was approved by Council in 2023 during the transition from Federal Polytechnic Kabo and is reviewed annually against the National Universities Commission guidelines and the University Strategic Plan. Every directorate publishes an annual service charter under SERVICOM setting out what users can expect, how long each service should take and how to complain if it does not happen.

This page lists each unit, what it does, who leads it and how to reach it. If you are unsure which office handles your issue, the Registry front desk in the Senate Building will direct you, or you may write to info@fustkabo.edu.ng.

Service standards you can hold us to

Every directorate publishes an annual service charter under the Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM). The charter states the services the unit provides, the standard turnaround time for each, what the unit needs from you to deliver on time, and how to escalate when a standard is not met.

The Directorate of Quality Assurance audits performance against these charters twice a year, publishes the results internally and reports annually to Senate and Council. Complaints may be lodged at any SERVICOM desk, through the online form on the staff and student portals, or by writing directly to servicom@fustkabo.edu.ng.

  • Official transcript issued within 10 working days of payment
  • ICT service desk first response within 48 working hours
  • Statement of result issued within 5 working days of Senate approval
  • Maintenance request acknowledged within 24 hours, triaged within 72
  • Clinic consultation with no appointment during published clinic hours
  • Formal complaint acknowledged within 3 working days, resolved within 21

Common Questions About the Directorates

Where do I apply for an academic transcript?
Transcripts are issued by the Directorate of Examinations & Records in the Registry, Senate Building. Apply through the alumni portal, pay the prescribed fee at the Bursary or online, and upload the receipt. Local delivery takes ten working days; international dispatch depends on the courier and is quoted at the point of application.
My portal password is not working. Who do I contact?
The ICT service desk at the ICT Complex, or ict@fustkabo.edu.ng, extension 2202. Bring or quote your matriculation or staff number. Password resets for students are handled the same working day during registration periods.
How do I report a maintenance fault in a hall of residence or office?
Log the fault on the Works helpdesk form on the portal, or report at the Works Yard front desk. Faults affecting water, power or safety are treated as priority and attended to within twenty-four hours; routine repairs are scheduled within the working week.
Who handles complaints about a service or a member of staff?
The Directorate of Quality Assurance operates the SERVICOM complaints channel. Complaints are acknowledged within three working days and resolved within twenty-one. Matters involving discipline are referred to the Registrar; matters involving examination malpractice go to the Examinations & Records Directorate and, where necessary, to the Senate Committee on Examination Misconduct.
Can members of the public use the University Clinic?
The Clinic's primary duty is to students and staff. Members of the host community are seen for emergencies and, on a fee-paying basis, during designated community clinic hours on Wednesdays. Serious cases are stabilised and referred to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital or Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
How does a company get on the University vendor list?
The Directorate of Procurement advertises prequalification exercises in national newspapers and on this website in line with the Public Procurement Act 2007. Interested firms submit CAC registration, tax clearance for three years, PENCOM and ITF compliance certificates, audited accounts and evidence of similar past work.
What support is available for students with disabilities?
The Directorate of Student Affairs coordinates disability support: priority ground-floor accommodation, examination accommodations such as extra time and scribes, assistive technology through ICT, and a named counsellor. Disclose your requirements at registration so arrangements are in place before teaching begins.
Which unit handles NYSC mobilisation?
The Directorate of Examinations & Records prepares and uploads the graduating list to the NYSC portal after Senate approves results. Watch the notice boards and the University website for the senate-approved list and correction window; errors not reported during that window are difficult to fix afterwards.
