UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT
Principal Officers
The officers who together constitute the executive management of the Federal University of Science and Technology, Kabo, and the offices they lead.
University Management
Under the University's enabling Act, day-to-day executive authority is vested in the Vice-Chancellor as Chief Executive, supported by two Deputy Vice-Chancellors and by the statutory Principal Officers — the Registrar, the Bursar and the University Librarian. Together with the Directors of Works and of Information and Communication Technology, they form the Management Committee, which meets weekly to coordinate the operational business of the University.
Management operates within the policy framework set by the Governing Council and the academic decisions of the Senate. It does not make policy of its own motion: its function is to implement, to advise, and to bring to Council and Senate the matters that properly belong to them. This separation of powers is deliberate, and it is the principal safeguard of good governance in a Nigerian federal university.

How to Route Your Enquiry
Students should first approach their Course Adviser, Head of Department or Faculty Officer. Matters that cannot be resolved at faculty level are escalated in writing to the Registrar. Admission and transcript enquiries go to the Registry; fees, receipts and refunds to the Bursary; portal, password and e-mail problems to the ICT Directorate. Correspondence addressed directly to the Vice-Chancellor on matters that belong to a lower level is routinely referred back down, which costs the sender time.
